2nd Star Organization

2nd Star Organization is a non-profit foundation dedicated to education and the free donation of Medical Grade RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) to medical patients within the State of New Mexico.

Founded by cannabis advocate and cancer survivor, Leah Avila, 2nd Star endeavors to provide relief to individuals managing chronic illness. Following chemotherapy, Ms. Avila discovered that RSO significantly aided in symptom management, particularly with pain, insomnia, and appetite loss. Historically, RSO was not readily accessible in the retail market, necessitating that patients manufacture their own cannabis concentrates. This process is not only hazardous if executed incorrectly, but also time-consuming, rendering it impractical for many.

2nd Star aspires to not only make RSO readily available to chronic medical patients, but also to disseminate educational resources and challenge the existing stigma that classifies cannabis as a narcotic rather than a natural medicine.
